Relationship Advice: On the Challenges and Joys of Sharing a Bed

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Jeff Herring Sharing a bed with someone can be great and challenging at the same time. For instance, I did not know until I got married several years ago that I begin to wake up about 4 am each morning, tossing, turning, and breathing hard. I woke up one Saturday morning to my wife’s elbow in my ribs and her telling me to “stop breathing.” Perhaps that has something to do with why we are no longer married. Couples sharing a bed Anyway, there are now people who are actually researching the challenges and benefits of couples sharing a bed. Dr. Paul C. Rosenblatt, a professor of sociology at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, has begun to study couples who share a bed and has been so fascinated by the results that he wrote “Two in a Bed: The Social System of Couple Bed Sharing” published this summer by State University of New York Press. According to Dr. Rosenblatt, “It’s not a self-help book,” but an a look at of some of the challenging, common and often humorous issues couples face when sharing a bed, including spooning, sheet-stealing, snoring, eating in bed and watching TV. Also according to Dr. Rosenblatt, when couples were asked about why they chose to share a bed together, “they looked at me as if I’d asked them why they keep breathing.” Many of the couples I coach speak of the challenges, different sleep patters, etc. But they grin when they talk about spooning, the intimacy of talking, and making love Visit http://www.SecretsofGreatRelationships.com for tips and tools for creating and growing a great relationship. Why Online Dating Is Taking Over

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Tommy Cooper Its official; the stains of partially digested pizza and a shirt wringing from a gallon of beer-induced sweat does not make you attractive to potential partners. Chatting a girl up at the bar may work well until in the middle of your very best line that youve been reserving for the right moment you decide to bring back the 2 bottles of Budweiser and Jack Daniels chaser that you sunk as Dutch courage. Of course, as soon as youre sober you know that this really wasnt the right move but at the time, partially because of your alcoholically induced stupor and partially because your best mates egged you on, you gave it your best shot. Regrettably for you, your best shot resulted in the contents of your stomach landing in some poor unsuspecting girls cleavage. If this has ever happened to you then it will come as no surprise whatsoever to learn that picking up your partner in a bar is reserved for those that have been going out for years and are giving them a lift home. Statistically speaking, you are much more likely to find love in the superstore than you are in a bar. In actual fact, the most likely way you will find a partner is meeting them through friends or family. The second most likely way is at work but the one method is quickly increasing is the Internet. There was a time when most men believed that the women they were talking to in chat rooms and on forums were most likely called Bob in real life. However, things have changed and it is much more socially acceptable to at least look for your ideal partner on the Internet. There are so many dating websites online now that you would be forgiven for thinking that nobody bothered going out anymore and that the population of the world was in mass decline because everyone is involved in long distance relationships with little or no chance of actual, physical procreation. I dont even think Google knows how to do that online yet. You can log on to dating sites that are geared towards particular religions, races, ages, nationalities or specific hobbyists. Its a bit like meeting somebody at the gym if you are a fitness fanatic and you know that you will at least find something you have in common. The trick is to try and meet somebody who also lives within a reasonable distance from you. If he or she lives hundreds of miles away then it is really unlikely that you are going to want to travel that far for a first date. Always look at a persons profile carefully before you jump into arranging a meeting and if the picture looks too good to be true then there is a chance it is. Ask for more pictures and check its the same person before you go turning up to any date and always try to make your first date somewhere public. Not only will this make you feel better but it will put your date at ease about meeting some weirdo off the Internet too. If possible try to tell people you know where you are going, what time you will be there and who you will be meeting. It may sound like a lot of effort to go on a date but there is a good chance you will be bragging about it anyway, so giving out these essential details shouldnt be that difficult. Obviously you should go out with the intention and aim of having fun but your safety should not be completely replaced by fun. Always take care and be sure you know where you are meeting and when. By telling someone where you are going you can be always be assured of your safety. Did God Create Man or Did Man Create God?

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

By Kirill Kachinsky First off and foremost, I grew up without anyone imposing Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism or any other form of religion. I grew up making my own decisions on who to believe and what, and if not to believe. But the question that always stood before me was, “how can I believe if I first know not of (his) existence?” An individual who may want to prove “his” existence would have limitless proofs, because “he” is a supernatural and an idea, “he” can be defended by supernatural ideas which are limitless in defense. On the other hand, I only can defend my point of view by factual evidence which is obviously limited but proven in existence. My proofs are worth more because they exist, on the other hand stories, legends, and myths are just that, they don’t exist, even if you create millions of them, it wouldn’t be enough to prove yourself because what you’re saying is, “blah blah blah” your stories don’t exist. With that said, let me state my side of the argument, I beg you to keep an open mind, as if the word “mind” really exists. . . 10, 7, 5, 8, Mind, 3, 23, Soul, 12, 90, Love, 78, 653, God, 87, Justice, 34, 82, Equality. What is a number? A number is an idea, it doesn’t exist. A number is not physical you cannot touch it. What is mind? Mind is an idea of a persons human consciousness, it’s just a word the same as Justice and Equality, you may call your “human consciousness” as Equality, it’s basically the same as calling it Mind. So what’s the difference in the word “God”, you might as well be praying to the number 5, neither actually exist. But it doesn’t end here, there was a great and intelligent man, that you may know, called Plato. Plato wrote a book called, “The Symposium” in which he tries to prove that love, god, and numbers exist. This is what happened, Plato couldn’t prove his point, so he went to the best ancient mathematics university that was around at his time, to study with great mathematicians. Why did he go to the university? Plato went to study math for 10 years with the mathematicians to prove that numbers exist, because he understood that if he proved the number 5 exists, then he automatically also proves that Love, and God exist the same. So what happened? After 10 years of study, he was not able to prove that the number 5 exists. But an interesting thing happened to him on the way home. On his way home, he stopped by this little island. On this island was an amphitheater, an amphitheater is our modern auditorium for Broadway spectacles, in which the seats go higher and higher purposely for the sound to be heard all over the theater. Plato sat there and looked around why everyone in the audience was crying, he couldn’t figure it out, then he finally looked at the stage and noticed something sad on the stage, with sad music. Now then he understood, he knew music had a beat and those beats needed numbers, he saw the musicians playing according to those beats, and produced sound which is physical and all of us are able to hear it. So the philosophy is, if you take something that doesn’t exist and apply it to something that does, it can be beautiful. But still the number doesn’t exist and neither does God. Let me move on to other finer points, and more detailed disapproval’s. We live in a contemporary world, well let’s just say contemporary America. In contemporary America we have such things called as “the top ten songs”, “the top ten movies”, or “the top ten actors.” We also have the ten commandments, if there was 7 or 9 or 11 commandments, the contemporary American public would certainly not take it seriously and totally disregard it. The number 10 is psychologically satisfying, due to its number. The fifth commandment says, “thou shalt not kill”, there have been more wars and deaths in the name or religion than all other wars put together including World War 1 & 2. For example, France as Huguenots and England as Catholics battled for literally hundreds of years, and this is recorded as data and proved, it is educated in classes across the world, my point here is, if Gods wars can be recorded and documented and proven to be actual history, why isn’t God the cause of the war be able to be documented and proven to exist? The deaths are, why isn’t he? In modern day, disputes between Israeli’s and Muslims are seen on television almost daily with suicides and raids. Is fighting for your god really worth the death of so many of your own people maybe even family members? You fight for your religion only to stop when it is your time to put on a green shirt, pants and a black rifle to only be killed on the battle field, because after all, isn’t there only one God? Then why are we always fighting? God is a quick answer to mans great questions, “where did we come from?”, “why are we here?” Well, why couldn’t we always have been here? Why do we need to have a beginning and an end, I personally think evolution is retarded, I don’t think a giraffe grew it’s neck 10 ft long to bite off a leaf. But evolution is partly true. Back in the middle ages, we all may recall that the height of a very tall person would be approximately 5 feet, now tall would involve well over 6 feet. The average height of people now is around 5 feet and 9 inches, back then it would be no more than 4 and a half feet. So did we grow bigger? Yes we did, and this is proven by factual evidence, by skeletons, statues and documents. So back to mans great questions, the quick answer to God is generated by ignorant people who don’t take the time to even think about their being. Some people see religion as a requirement of society, or in other words, a social ploid, why do we pledge of allegiance to God in our classrooms across America, isn’t there a separation of church and state in our great nation? We all know there are people around us who were brought into religion without a choice like orthodox Jews, the children’s parents threw all their beliefs at them and as children they just took it in without question, almost being brainwashed. The thoughts of those children stay with them for many years, and they will pass those ideas down to their children, and so on. This is the same as the great Ku Klux Klan in which their children are also implanted with ideas from their parents from birth to keep carrying on the cause and hate that their ignorance produces. In my opinion people should be able to make their own decisions on their own ideas, beliefs and observations. Those who choose their religion upon their own beliefs and observations and not environmental influences are real believers in their cause. But what do you get from praying all your life and believing in a single or even maybe many deities? Well if you let me tell you, I have a personal experience. My stepfather is a devoted Christian almost completely all his life, he prays all the time, before he goes to sleep, when he wakes up, before he enters or leaves a house, when he’s in his car, he prays even in his sleep probably. What does he have in return? I’ll tell you what, a failed business, $20,000 in debt, a car accident and his sister has lung-cancer, she’s only 36 years old. Let me talk about fear. Fear, all people have fear even me, the greatest fear of all is death and loss of life. If one of your relatives dies you can cope with their death through religion, convincing yourself that they are in heaven and well. When it comes to your own death, you automatically think of hell, and try to go over all the things in your head that you did bad and match it up with good, hoping good wins over and you’ll go to heaven, or at best, purgatory. The facts is, is that no one knows what happens after death, but since there are not supernatural occurrences in real life, why should their be when you’re dead? All the stories of the bible are nonsense, how can Noah’s ark be able to hold 2 of each animal? That’s impossible, 2 elephants, 2 gorillas, 2 giraffes, that’s a big ark. How is it that God created Adam and Eve first when fossil records and carbon dating show that there were life forms before Adam and Eve? If God created everything, who created God? More importantly did God create man or did man create God? Here’s something else to think about, why doesn’t God create man in heaven? Why doesn’t the devil create man in hell? Why are we created on earth? Born in Belarus, Minsk 1988, came to America with huge aspirations, and fullfilling them by participating in a Microsoft competition, and soon attending Polytechnic University in New York City. I spend my time with my friends and research technology constantly. I always question things before i believe them blindly and make sure in whatever it is i do, there is truth in it, or at least money! Posters

Monday, January 28th, 2008

By Alison Cole Posters are one of the earliest forms of advertisement. They derived their name from the posts (dividing roads for general public and the horse carriages) to which paper pamphlets using lithographic stone printing were pasted. Posters have been used as a means of visual communication, advertisement and propaganda. They help in creating awareness, inspiring people and mobilizing support or loyalty for a cause. Apart from their functional aspect, posters have gained popularity as a unique and inexpensive form of creative expression, often with immense aesthetic appeal. It is precisely because of this that posters have become prized possessions and collectibles. Posters are also inexpensive decorative items, especially for the young. Posters come in numerous types, categories, sizes and editions, and an infinite variety of categories. Banner-sized posters, bus stop posters, window cards, half sheets and six-sheet posters are a few among the various sized posters that abound in the market. Many posters are experimental; some are rare promotional posters like door panel posters, lobby cards, screening tickets, heralds and promotional cards. Some posters are press posters from press kits, slides and still kits, electronic press kits, campaigning book kits and ad sheets. Posters are used for a variety of promotional and communication purposes, and there are some that qualify as collectibles. Deciding on what is a collectible is purely an individual decision. However, there are a few standard parameters that are taken into consideration while deciding the collectible value of a poster. The demand for a particular poster, its age (issue) and the condition of the particular poster (undamaged and unstained) are a few of the standard parameters applied. Limited editions are also valued by many people. Posters are usually found with individual companies and distributors. NSS History, NSS Tags and Demise are a few of the companies that operate as poster distributors. Movie posters are also distributed by studios. Nowadays, some posters are auctioned as art pieces. Art posters even make it to museums. There are many online options for those who aspire to be or are collectors. 9-11 Changed Everything for the Garden Tractor Business

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

By Lance Winslow While traveling the US and occasionally taking the back highways one might have seen an interesting trend. That is the proliferation of the Lawn Garden tractors. They are everywhere and on any weekend you can see their owners mowing the grass. Previously fewer people had garden tractors but right after 9-11 everyone decided to stay home more and so they invested in things they wanted around the house, like BBQs and garden tractors. The manager of the Wal-Mart Super Center in Witchita Falls, TX said we have about 50 garden tractors out side for sale at any one time and they turn over quickly. We checked the prices and they are very affordable. You can peruse Wal-Marts online catalog at Walmart.com and see the selection. Now we took some back roads and highways on our last trip from coast to coast to see America and Home Town Americana and what did we see? We counted in TN, AL, VA, NJ, LA, MS, TX 143 people riding garden tractors, actually on them as we passed mowing the tall grass. Now these garden tractors are not free even though they are a good bargain. With the Spring bringing rain and lawns growing fast, there are many lawns which have grown tall, and they must be mowed to prevent tall grass growing and dying. If you have cattle or goats, then they can eat it down to where it needs to be, but if you want it have a manicured lawn then you must get one of these killer little units, most are made here in America. As well as many of the parts, which is good for manufacturing jobs stateside. Sales for garden tractors are strong and top out the profit margin for categories at Wal-Mart. This is an incredible plus for little towns like Statesboro, GA where Briggs and Stratton has a plant, which produces small engines. It is good for our steel industry and automotive sector parts makers, which can also build tractor parts rather than laying off people. Why is this good for America? Why is it not? Well it is good because it prevents grass from getting too tall and becoming fire hazard. It is good because it uplifts Americans and gives them a sense of pride in their property, helps with an ownership society buy-in attitude and perhaps will help them decide to finally get rid of those average of 5 non-running cars in the backyards rusting and polluting ground and well water of our small towns. It helps people care for their homes and their families by doing something positive at home. Homes and BBQs and family has become a greater priority since the mass media hysteria striking unnecessary fear in the American Public post 9-11. Why is it not good for America? Well we have lots of mulch and grass clippings which if set aside produces methane gas, tons of it is released into our atmosphere. If it is covered, which normally it is not, the methane gas from the dead grass could be recovered and used for biomass fuel. It is not good because push mowers are better for your health, because it gets you out and about and helps you stay fit; although with the high humidity in the Midwest and East Coast States perhaps that might cause problems with heat stroke. Either way a ride on lawn mower is not a luxury anymore, America has made it a necessity and that means jobs, that means more beautiful homesteads and happier family life and time to watch the ball game because the “Honey Do’s” just got that much easier while sitting back and driving on the grass. It saves a lot of money too, because if you think you want to cruise into town in you pickup or SUV it is going to cost you $3.00 per gallon and $20.00 round trip minimum. From the back roads of America, that is our report. Drive safe; drive a garden tractor. Think about it. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. Job Interviews: Things To Avoid

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

By Andre Bias As a young business owner it is my preference to work a part-time job when starting a new business venture. I like to have money coming in through different sources at all times. My inability to obtain a job is the main reason my first business venture failed. After getting advice from an individual in human resources, I realized what mistakes I was making. I will share this information so that others do not have to deal with rejection form employers like I have had to in the past. 1. Wearing an earring. Many males wear earrings but it is considered unprofessional to wear an earring to a job interview, unless you are a female of course. 2. Talking too much. Believe it or not talking to much can hurt you at a job interview because you could get to a point where you get off the subject or say things that you should not say. 3. Not talking enough. Employers say they want to hire high energy, enthusiastic people so if you dont talk enough they may think you are shy or quiet. 4. Getting to the interview late. If you arrive late then the potential employer will question your reliability. 5. Saying things that give them the impression that you dont want to stay with the company long term. If they feel that you will only be with the company for a short time they wont want to hire you. Avoiding the 5 mistakes listed above will increase your chances of obtaining quality employment. What’s Fear Have to Do with It?

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

By Amy Barnes What keeps you from following your dreams, from maybe even having dreams or from doing and being your best? Can you feel the fear by the tension in your shoulders or neck or your upset stomach or at 3:00am as you toss and turn and play those what ifs from your last relationship over and over and over again in your mind. So how do you deal with your fear? Do you constantly worry? Maybe youd love to fine the shut off valve for all those thoughts running around in your head: fear of what other people think, fear of losing a job, fear of not being good enough, fear of being rejected, fear of being committed, fear of being in over your head, fear of being alone, fear of being smothered or controlled by another person. Fear keeps us frozen, afraid to alter our course or to try something new. Fear keeps us numb and from being our best. Many of us are not aware of our fears. We have long ago stopped questioning them. Instead we just think thats how life is. We may not even think a better life is possible or that we are even worthy of a better life. Fear can keep you paralyzed from making decisions or fear can force you into making a decision long before you are ready to do so. Faith is the opposite of fear. Faith is a belief in the abundance of the universe. Faith is a belief that God loves us and wants the best for us. God created us and God does hear out prayers. Faith is also a belief in our own capability to believe in ourselves and to work towards what we want. Fear is about scarcity. Everything is in short supply and I probably wont get what I want. The more you tend to bring your fear in the light: to acknowledge it and to share it with others the more it seems to disappear. Try writing a list of all your fears no matter how large or how insignificant. Share your fears with a friend. Sharing your fear with another whom you trust, means you no longer have to deal with your fear alone. As a therapist I work with people whose fears as so great that they may feel out of control of their life or so overwhelmed by fear that they find little enjoyment in life. The more we fear the more stuck and limited our world becomes. As our faith in Gods abundance and love increases, we often find more abundance and love in our own lives. How do you start each morning, with your focus on fear or faith? Where would you like to put your focus? Arbitration And The Lemon Law

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

By Donald Ladew If the neighbors Pekinese decides to scare off bad guys at 2:00AM in the morning, and does this every night, and you cant persuade your neighbor to correct the situation, perhaps mediation or arbitration is the answer. After all, going to court seems a bit much, and committing crimes against the little $%%$# is probably counter productive. I say this by way of introducing the fact that your long battle against the Fords or Mercedes of the world isnt at all like getting the neighbors lap dog to be quiet. There are situations where arbitration or a dispute resolution process is entirely appropriate. However we want to say it right up front, after over four thousand five hundred lemon law cases we have almost never seen a case where the vehicle owner benefited from arbitration with a manufacturer. It is an unequal battle that is but one step in a long war. The outcome is inevitable. To engage in this war is equivalent to a middle-aged, non-athletic accountant, dedicated to ribs and beer stepping into the ring with the young Muhammad Ali. You wont even see that sweet left hook coming. Everything is on the side of the manufacturer. Sun-tzu in the “The Art of War” wrote, “Generally in warfare: if ten times the enemies strength, surround them; if five times, attack them; if double, divide them; if equal, be able to fight them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.” I hate to be the one to break the news but consumers very definitely fall in the latter two categories. Consumers going into arbitration have fewer soldiers and are certainly weaker. In California two things level the playing field. A strong lemon law - the Song Beverly Act - and very experienced lemon law attorneys. We should have these things, after all California has more cars on the road than any other state. Lets look at a definition of Arbitration: “The process by which the parties to a dispute submit their differences to the judgment of an impartial person or group appointed by mutual consent or statutory provision.” With very few exceptions you can forget impartial and mutual consent. If Saddam Hussein offered to arbitrate detente between Islam and Israel, I for one would have problems with the impartiality of his decision. Mr. Hussein will never be found on the moral high ground. Arbitration can be similarly unequal. Fairness, equity and the proper application of the law are what should occur in arbitration. If you want the consumer to accept arbitration that is sponsored by an automobile manufacturer, or where the arbitration organization receives most of its business from automobile manufacturers, then I give you the same answer Israel would give Saddam. “Forget it! Not on your best day, sport!” There are other factors that unfortunately work against arbitration being an equitable solution for consumers with lemon vehicles. Training Professional arbitrators are not necessarily trained in the lemon law, in fact it is far more likely that they have no training in the subject at all. Arbitrators are rarely judges or lawyers. Generally the arbitrator is trained in so-called people skills, how to negotiate and perhaps a smattering of legal knowledge. This is a subject area where a little knowledge is very definitely dangerous. Perhaps the arbitrator imagines he or she can get by on common sense and honesty. If it were true the consumer would seldom lose a case. Are consumers properly prepared for arbitration? How could they be, even if they read the Song Beverly Act, or anything else? Even with all the facts, consumers dont know what to expect. Consumers arent all lawyers. The manufacturer will send a lawyer trained to handle this sort of thing. The manufacturers lawyer may lie; thats correct, lie. Theres not much consumers can do about that except feel miserable. Whether the manufacturer s representatives lie or not, they will present a blizzard of bizarre possibilities, all designed to confuse and dilute the consumers case. Is arbitration binding? There is light at the end of this particular tunnel, however. In California, arbitration is not binding; its just another waste of time. When the ruling is handed down, and the manufacturer is permitted another repair attempt, consumers need not comply, consumers can get a lemon law attorney and put an end to the endless games manufacturers play. Cost Even if the arbitration is paid by the state, what is often ignored is the lost time from work, expenses for experts where expenses are required, copying, and running around to get copies of missing paperwork. Then there is the time spent preparing an oral argument, trying to figure out how to answer the manufacturers defenses. Of course, if the manufacturer runs the arbitration, this is no arbitration at all. How long does it take? If consumers get this far they have often been trying to get the dealer/manufacturer to do something about their car for many months, even years. Arbitration adds another 30-90 days onto to the process. If the car is dangerous to drive what do consumers do? Are they supposed to endanger themselves and their families in an attempt to finally get the problem resolved? Should they do this, especially when there is a better than even chance that more delay will be added into the process by awards of additional repair attempts? This is hardly a fair and equitable solution to the problem. A little known fact All major vehicle manufacturers have networks of dealerships all across the country and even the world. Manufacturers enter into contracts with dealerships. These contracts affect every aspect of sales, maintenance and repair of their vehicles. More frequently than the public ever discovers, there are disputes between dealerships and manufacturers. Dealerships want uniform arbitration procedures and laws to help them deal with these disagreements. Guess who fights any sort of arbitration with dealerships? Exactly! The manufacturers. And yet, the manufacturer touts the benefits of the arbitration/dispute resolution process when it comes to consumers. Whats wrong with this picture? Remember, if the manufacturer wants arbitration, its not good for the consumer: Arbitration does not take place on a level playing field. At Norman Taylor & Associates we have seen enough cases to know this. The two sides have very different goals. Consumers simply want vehicles that work as advertised. The manufacturer does not want to give consumers a refund or replacement for their defective car and then be stuck with a vehicle that is worth half its current value, and may be impossible to fix or to sell. From the manufacturers point of view they have every incentive to make the entire process so difficult that consumers will give up and go away. Dont do it, Mr. and Mrs. Consumer. With professional help you can prevail. Absolutely nothing beats winning a hard fought battle when you are right. The Basics of Bass Fishing

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

By Charles Hammer Bass fishing might not look very difficult, but if you are an inexperienced bass fishermen, bass fishing can be very difficult. knowing what you are doing when you are out on the water bass fishing, can make the difference between going home with a boat load of fish and catching nothing. It doesn’t matter what type of bass you are fishing for you need to take into consider the following bass fishing tips they will help you out on your next fishing trip. Even though cover and structure sound like they mean the same thing they don’t. They actually mean two very different things. Cover is something that fish use to hide in while structure is something that can change the bottom of the lake. Bass fishermen will commonly tell you that it is better to fish a combination of both cover and structure. Burn Fat Not Sugar!

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

By Michelle Wollaston You are going to be pleasantly surprised! Most people think that in order to lose weight you have to do strenuous exercise, continuously, and lots of it! Well, Guess what? NOT TRUE! I know you are thinking? That’s crazy! It doesn’t make any sense! I thought the same thing, when I first heard this. But it all comes down to understanding how your body works. By exercising 20 minutes a day average, you can reduce your craving for the wrong kinds of foods that result from your life stresses. SO let’s explore that concept of how the body really works! Your body has two ways to create energy. Your body can turn fat into energy, or it can turn blood sugar, glucose, into energy. But it can’t do both at the same time. At any time, your body is either burning fat, or blood sugar. When your energy demand is low, your body burns fat. When you are walking, working at your desk, driving a car, and even sleeping - the demand for energy is low so the body is burning fat. But as soon as your activity levels increase - your body turns to blood sugar since fat cannot be converted into energy quickly enough. Let’s take an example. You are walking down the street to the bus stop (burning fat), and you see your bus start to close the doors and ready to leave. You start running - and very quickly your heart rate and your breathing will increase, and your body will begin to burn blood sugar instead of fat. Constant strenuous exercise conditions your body to burn blood sugar, instead of fat. Wow! That is an eye-opener, isn’t it? These types of strenuous exercises are great for the heart, lungs, and circulation, and you may want to do these AFTER you lose the weight. Until then, try anaerobic exercise that doesn’t increase your heart rate. Try long, slow walks, because they are burning fat while you walk - but as an added bonus, you are conditioning your body to burn fat, opening up fat burning systems, burning calories, and building muscle Weight lifting is another great exercise for losing weight because it will build muscle and muscle burns fat. Yep, that’s true. The more muscle you have the more fat your body burns every day. Don’t get me wrong - I am talking easy weight lifting, such as with 5 or 10 pound weights, and limit this to about 20 minutes a day, every other day. Alternate walking and weight lifting during the week - take Sunday Off. It is really that simple! Start your walking program easy too. Start with 5 minutes out, and then come back. Over time increase to 10 minutes out, and then come back; then 15, then 20. 20 minutes out and 20 minutes back - 40 minutes total every other day. Then stay consistent! One of the biggest problems with strenuous exercise is that people sometimes injure themselves early on in the program, and then that’s the end of it! All you need to do is walk and weight lift - light workouts. And once you have gotten started, do it consistently. This easy exercise program combined with a program of nutrition, information, and personal coaching can be just your ticket, to getting rid of those unwanted pounds forever.
