Relaxing Into Your Workout: Yoga for Weight Loss

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

By Julie Health Once again, you see that there is a specific diet that is known to solve all your problems. Of course, it comes from a new state, has a new name, and works by eliminating all of those things you don’t need to stay healthy. You’ve heard it before, and you know that you will hear it again. If you are not interested in knowing about the latest fad diet, why not turn to a program that has been used for centuries? Yoga for weight loss is a method that has been used to repair your body into a natural state and help to develop every area of your body. If you want to find a relaxing way to loose weight, as well as help with the overall health of your body, than understanding how Yoga works is a great place to begin. When looking at Yoga as an exercise, one will be able to see that it is built for an overall increase in better body functioning. This doesn’t stop with weight loss. It also includes strength training, flexibility, balance and help with internal health. Whether you are beginning new workout routines, or are a triathlon, Yoga is a recommended form of exercise to continue to push your body to new levels of balance and health. Several of the exercises that are used for Yoga are designed to increase blood flow. As this circulation begins to change, it also begins to affect internal organs. There are a variety of inversion moves that are used in Yoga that specifically target on increasing circulation and working with internal organs. These all cause the digestive system to relax and shift. Many who use Yoga will refer to this as a massaging of the organs. Your body will begin to respond by detoxifying, or getting rid of the extra things that are in this part of your body. Over time, you will begin to feel the difference in your energy level, and notice the difference from the size of your clothing. Not only will the blood flow begin to change to help with a cleansing of your internal organs, but there will also be a shift in cholesterol. Cholesterol is a fat that is used for energy and is necessary for functioning. If there is too much stored in your system, it can cause weight gain. Yoga poses will allow the blood and oxygen to move around the areas in the internal system that has extra cholesterol. Over time, it will remove the extra cholesterol that you don’t need; part of the detoxification process. If you have high cholesterol and practice Yoga daily, you will begin to see the improvements. Moving beyond these direct affects for the body and weight loss in Yoga, are the other parts of the practice that can help to change the functioning of your body. Often times, weight gain is related to stressful factors in daily functioning and emotional overhauls that occur. Yoga begins with the breath first, and most of the poses are to be done at a slow pace. While you are twisting, you will also learn to relax. Combined with the physical effects of the movements, the mental charge behind this can help to support weight loss. If you want to find the perfect exercise routine and not become involved in another diet fad, Yoga is a perfect solution. Among all of the other benefits that come with doing Yoga is the ability for it to pose your body into the shape that you want. No matter what your size, Yoga for weight loss can become a perfect fit. Florida DUI Defense

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By Josh Riverside DUI (driving under the influence) is a serious offence in Florida and may be considered as a misdemeanor or traffic crime or even felony in some cases. Getting arrested under DUI may mean a permanent criminal record, fine, community service, loss of license, vehicle immobilization, higher insurance rates and may be even imprisonment. As per the Florida law, every person operating a motor vehicle gives an implied consent to take a chemical breath test when suspected of drunk driving by an official. There could be blood tests and urine tests also for determining the levels of alcohol in blood and urine. Refusal to take these tests would result in confiscation of the driving license for a year. There would be several formalities involved when arrested under DUI. The best option under these circumstances is to consult a good DUI attorney who would be able to provide good defense and prevent or lessen the punishment. DUI attorneys are generally familiar in breath tests, blood analysis, urine analysis and drug recognition evaluation, and would be thus able to look for any loopholes in the test results. They can also defend by analyzing the environment and road conditions at the time and location of the arrests and any other factors that may have affected the sobriety tests at that time. Defense can also be built by analyzing the DUI deposition testimonies of the cops as well as state expert witnesses. Attorneys can effectively review the case for any loopholes, conduct independent analysis of the blood samples, check the calibration and maintenance records of the breath-analyzing machine, suppress evidence and obtain good witnesses to provide the best defense. There are good chances for building a solid defense for DUI cases as it was found that breathalyzer machines can give false readings. Nausea and disorientation, which are considered as impairment of normal faculties, can also be impaired by police car lights. Balance can be impaired by the pitch of the road or by injuries to the hips, knees, joints or back. There are some medications that cause side effects resembling intoxication. Conducting sobriety tests in unfavorable conditions would also give false results. Exhaustion or fear can be mistaken for drunkenness. A recent blow to the head may also seem like intoxication. Conditions like diabetes, hypoglycemia may also result in impairment. All these factors are carefully analyzed by the attorney to build a strong defense against DUI conviction. Hot Bed - A Simple Greenhouse

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By Paul Wonning A hot bed is simply a cold frame which has bottom heat incorporated into it. The old fashioned way is to use manure for the heat source. The recipe for this is about one third organic matter, such as straw or dried leaves to about two thirds fresh manure. This can be horse, sheep, cow, rabbit or fowl. It is best to dig a pit to put this mixture into. Do not use cat or dog manure as these can contain parasites. Mix this thoroughly, water good and leave to sit for a few days. Turn it, to mix in more air. By now, decomposition should be occurring and it should be putting off heat. Lay the cold frame over the manure pit. Then put about an inch of soil on top of the manure mix. You now have an old fashioned hot bed, or you should. You can plant seedlings into the soil, or in bedding packs filled with potting soil. After germination, the seedlings can be transplanted and moved into a cold frame to grow further before setting out into the garden. A more reliable heat source for the hot bed is specially made heating cables. These can be found in garden centers and greenhouse supply houses. They generally run off standard 110 volts, have a thermostat which is preset at seventy degrees. Dig a shallow pit about three inches deep. Lay the cables in the pit in a pattern which allows even heat over the entire hot bed. You can uses landscape staples to fasten it down, or cut clothes hangers and bend into a staple shape. Do not allow the wires of the heat cable to cross, and make sure the outlet you use to plug it in has a ground fault circuit breaker installed in it. Cover this with about one inch of dirt, and then cover this with some fiberglass window screen. This is to prevent you from cutting the electric cable if you start digging in the hot bed with a trowel. Then cover the screen with about two inches of topsoil or potting soil. Again, you may plant directly in this, or in bedding packs. The hot bed can be turned into a propagation chamber to root cuttings in midsummer. A hot bed can be constructed the old fashioned way with fresh manure and organic matter, or with electric heating cables. Either way, it is an ideal structure to use to start seedlings in the spring and root cuttings in midsummer. 2006 Paul Wonning is the owner of Gardens and Nature.com a web site about gardening, hiking and other nature related topics. Healing Your Body’s Energy: Medical Intuitive Insights on Adrenal Fatigue

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

By Christopher Stewart Many of my clients speak of having fatigue, sleeping problems, weight gain, and depression. They say that their mind feels 100 years ahead of their body. Sound familiar? Many of these clients have what is known as Adrenal Fatigue or in extreme cases, Adrenal Exhaustion. Your adrenals are small Brazil nut size glands which are on top of your kidneys. They are, in reality, two very different glands packed into one. The center of the adrenal gland makes adrenaline (epinephrine) and it is governed by the autonomic nervous system. The outer part of your adrenal gland, which is called the cortex, makes many additional important hormones for your body. Some of the most important are: Cortisol: When you are under stress your adrenal glands will increase the making of cortisol to help your body respond to stress. Cortisol does raise yourblood sugar, and blood pressure, as well as reducing your immune response. When your cortisol becomes low; you may have low blood pressure, fatigue, immune deficiency, and a high degree of allergies and sensitivities. Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S): DHEA is the most plentiful hormone produced by the brain. How DHEA works in our body is not understood fully. When your DHEA levels are low, you will feel dragged out, and feel you have very low energy.DHEA-S does decline with age, and does drop more rapidly with chronic fatigue patients.Often bringing your DHEA level to a middle range for a 29 year old will help considerably. Aldosterone: This is the hormone that governs the balance of salt and water in your body. Estrogen and testosterone: These two hormones are manufactured in significant amounts by your adrenals. About half the testosterone in a womans body is made by her adrenals. Your adrenal glands job is to quickly transport all of your bodys resources into thefight or flight mode. They do this by rapidly increasing the making of adrenaline and other hormones. When healthy, your adrenals can rapidly increase your heart rate and blood pressure, and open your bodys energy stores for immediate use. Your senses will sharpen, and your body becomes very alert.A healthy stress response will have a priority over all of your metabolic functions. A healthy stress response will not last very long. However, in the modern world, we have lives of constant stress. Over work, toxins in our air, water and homes, poor nutrition, all of these create great stress in your body/mind. With all these challenges, the body will create a demand on your adrenal glands. The Damage of Cortisol When cortisol production in your body is functioning normally, it will enable your body to meet the challenge of stress by converting protein into energy, and helping to release glycogen. It also will help to reduce inflammation. This process will work fine for a short time, however if it continues, cortisol will begin to wear your body down. A high level of cortisol in your body will wear down muscle and bone. Your bodys ability to heal itself will slow down, as well as the replacement of cells. Cortisol will take over the other biochemicals your body uses to make its other hormones. Adrenal fatigue may also be a factor in fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, early menopause and other conditions. In my medical intuitive work, the energy pattern that I see with a person who has adrenal fatigue is that of survival, one who is not truly connected with their physical life on the Earth. The person is reacting as if they are under attack and are leaving their physical body behind. With intention and focused effort, their adrenals can be restored to health. Your first step is to have a complete physical from your doctor. This will rule out any disease or other factors. My adrenal fatigue clients have seen great improvement by following these steps: Decrease carbohydrates and stimulants in your diet. Add a minimum of 800mg of EPA, and 600 mg per day DHA, which are essential fatty acids. They are most easily found in fish oil capsules Work on reducing your stress. Walking and being in nature is always healing. A focused energy practice such as Hatha Yoga, Tai Chi, or Qigong is very helpful. Persons with more severe symptoms, such as adrenal exhaustion, usually need a more intensive program. These may include phosphorylated serines, low-dose DHEA, ginseng and other supplements. Each person is unique, and therefore has unique needs. Self diagnosing is not recommended as it may have adverse side effects. Mobile Phone Deals - Its All In Your Hands

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carlo_Janee]Carlo Janee The mobile industry is an ever growing industry that has many active participants who constantly try to get the best out of the industry. Active competition in the mobile telephony industry has led mobile manufacturing brands do all they can to provide the best options to their end users. After all it is the end users who these mobile phone manufacturing companies cater to. Mobile phone manufacturers along with network providers have come up with some interesting mobile phone deals that are very cost effective and offer consumers some of the best offers. The two highly appreciated mobile phone deals are the Contract Mobile Phone Deals, Sim Free Mobile Phone Deal and the Pay-As-You-Go Deal. All these deals are cost effective and have their own advantages. The Contract deal is run on fixed regulations wherein the customer has to sign in a contract with the network provider. Here in this contract the customer is relieved from paying a monthly rental for the line for the contract period. The deal also offers various other value added services like free text messaging, reduced tariff rates, minimal downloading charges, free rental and many other deals that are exceedingly helpful for the consumers. But the only shortcoming of this deal is that once the deal is signed with the network provider customers cannot switch over to some other network provider until the contract period finishes. The Sim Free Mobile Phone Deal is unlike the [http://www.onlinemobilephoneshop.co.uk/]Contract Mobile Phones Deal. This deal gives users a whole lot of freedom. As the deal allows mobile phone users to use their mobile phones globally, the Sim Free Mobile Phone Deal is a favorable option for users who are always on the go. These are also known as the GSM mobile phones and the handsets offered in this deal can be used in different tariff plans. The Pay-As-You-Go Mobile phone Deal is tailor-made for the subscribers who do not want to get into the complications of Contract Deals. The PAYG Deal is a simple deal wherein the subscriber pays for what he uses. Art Collecting Tips

Monday, July 16th, 2007

By Chris Powers Just because you have money doesnt mean you have to spend it. In art collecting it can actually be a disadvantage to be flush with cash, at least when youre a beginner. I say this because its harder to resist the temptation to purchase art when you have money. Even if youre a financially disciplined person, art can play on your emotions and you can find yourself spending more freely than you ever have before. Take the time to learn about the kind of art you want to collect. Unbelievable deals dont come around often, and they rarely come to beginning collectors. There will always be quality art to purchase. The best thing for you to do is take your time and learn, learn, learn about the artists or category of art you want to buy. When you feel that youre ready to take the plunge and buy a piece of art, be sure to learn as much about the artist as you can. Especially examine the artists auction records if there are any. Auction records are not definitive, but they are very helpful. Narrow down your collecting interest as much as you possibly can. You can like all kinds of art, but it will serve your best interests to narrow down the scope of your art collecting interests as much as possible. The more you narrow down your collecting interest, the more of an expert youre likely to become in that particular area. One of the greatest joys of collecting art is learning so much about an artist that you feel almost like you know him, or studying the period of history in which the art was developed. The more this is done, the greater your appreciation of your collection will be, and your enthusiasm and knowledge will be evident when you show off your collection. Yes, you should buy a piece of art because you love it, BUT take the financial aspect into consideration too. It has become a clich in the art advice business to tell people that the best thing for them to do is buy the art that they love. This is good advice, but somehow hidden in that statement seems to be a subtle message to not take the financial aspect of the piece into consideration. I say buy the art that you love, but also make sure youre not paying too much for it and consider your end game. I wouldnt advise asking, How much money can I make on this painting? Or How much will it appreciate? Rather, just be sure that you can recoup your investment. Tragedies can happen, and sadly what people first consider selling to raise money is their art collection. Buying work by a deceased artist is generally less financially risky than buying art by a contemporary artist. This is because the art market for a contemporary artist has not really been tested. Most deceased artists have some kind of record of sale on the secondary market, whether it be at an auction or a gallery. This record gives you an idea of what is an appropriate price to pay for a work by a certain artist. Just because a painting is signed T.C. Steele doesnt mean T.C. Steele actually signed it or even did the painting. What often happens is that a family member, often a wife or son or sister, signs an artist’s paintings after he dies. If this is the case, it decreases the value of the painting. Of course, an “artist signed” painting could also be a forgery. Ive seen plenty of paintings that bear the signature of an artist who clearly didnt do the painting. An art appraiser can assist you in determining the authenticity of a signature or painting. Just because a desirable artist did a painting doesnt mean that the painting is desirable. Every artist had his good days and bad days. Some had more bad than good. Certain periods of an artists work are also more desirable than other periods. Also, if an artist is known for painting landscapes, a painting that he did of a cat is probably going to be much less desirable. The medium is also important in determining desirability. Overall, oil paintings tend to rank as most desirable; however, there are artists who work in all mediums but whose watercolors or prints are more in demand than their oil paintings. There are a lot of great deals on eBay. There are also a lot of fakes, junk, inexperienced sellers and shippers, and hucksters. Ebay can be a great place to learn about art, but it’s not usually where the best pieces by an artist appear. This is because the best pieces are usually brokered between dealers and their clients. Occasionally, such pieces make it onto eBay, but usually through live auctions. Ebay can also be a financially risky place to buy art. The number of fakes, questionable works, and bad paintings on eBay is quite high. Unless you are an expert in a particular category of art or on a particular artist, Id avoid buying on eBay until youre sure you know what youre doing. Even then you can still make mistakes. (e.g. buying a print that was described by the seller as a painting, getting an excellent buy only to receive the item damaged because it was improperly packaged for shipping) Most art dealers arent dishonest, but the dishonest ones have a radar for those who want to be quickly parted from their money. When buying a painting from a gallery or dealer, try to find out as much as possible about where the painting came from. Provenance enhances the value of a painting. Also, if the price seems to be out of line with similar pieces youve seen by the artist, ask the dealer how he came up with the price. He may have very sound reasons for the price difference (or you may not be familiar enough with the artist), but if he becomes defensive or combative, be suspicious. Pricing art is an art. Its also part science and speculation. Art is not a commodity. Therefore, there are significant variations in price, even among the works of one artist. Its not unusual for an artist to have a high auction sale price of over a million dollars and a low one in the hundreds or low thousands. This happens for various reasons, usually related to size, medium, and period created. Always remember, any price can be put on a work of art, but theres no saying its worth the tag price until it sells. Also keep in mind that pricing art is not formulaic. There are dealers out there who are intentionally trying to rip people off by making them overpay for art. But most dealers use all the knowledge theyve spent considerable time acquiring; they research, they talk to other dealers, and then they come up with what they consider to be a fair market price for a piece. Dont be an art day trader. Unless you are an art dealer, I dont advise buying paintings and quickly trading or selling them for something else. I have not met a collector yet who has not lost money doing this. And the collector usually ends up frustrating the art dealer he’s dealing with in the process. How do you learn to change your life? Jump-start your weight loss by learning the techniques of self hypnosis. Does it work? Meditation works to relieve stress. Positive affirmations work to build self confidence. Hypnosis works by training your mind to think differently about yourself as a whole, including losing weight. You also learn easy and natural ways to care for your body, including how to get the exercise that is exactly right for you, how to become a more relaxed and attractive person and how to look your very best at all times. Hypnosis is all about reprogramming your subconscious mind for weight reduction and permanent and effortless weight control. We all know how hard it is to break old habits and undo the things that have caused us to gain weight in the first place. It’s hard but not impossible. All it takes is a little patience and effort by creating a plan for following through on your goals. We plan meals, we balance our checkbooks and we schedule events around our family time. Surely there is room for a bit of time to improve ourselves and our health. Our futures depend on it. To your weight loss success!
